Summer School

What a fantastic couple of weeks we had at Summer School!  A huge thank you to you for helping to make it such fun, and an even bigger thank you to our fabulous teachers for sharing their knowledge and skills, and conducting amazing classes.  We can’t wait to see the results as you finish your projects.

Hmmm…… am I brave enough (or silly enough!) to start thinking about Summer School for 2017?  There are already some suggestions coming through from my cohorts.  But in the meantime we are busily planning some exciting workshops to be held during the year.  Watch this space!

Block of the Month

The following is an update on all of our Blocks of the Month.  There are still some vacancies in all of them, so it’s not too late to sign up!

Quiltmania’s Mystery BOM for 2016 is proving very popular.  All is now in place from our end, and the first packages of fabrics are now available. Watch for yours in your letter box this week, or pop in to collect yours if you live close by.

$65.00 per month x 6 months

Designed by Katrina Hadjimichael, this BOM features English Paper Piecing and Applique techniques.  If all goes to plan this will be ready to start distributing month 1 in one to two weeks!.

$99.50 for the first month, followed by $69.50 for months 2 - 8

This BOM features Wool Applique and is designed by Australia’s own Deirdre Bond-Abel. Deirdre’s inspiration for this quilts design came from many places; folk art on buildings, tiles and iron work, and old quilts.  All is ready and shipments will begin this month.

$63.50 per month x 10 months

“Foxley Village”

“Homespun” magazine are running a mystery BOM for 2016, designed by Australia’s Natalie Bird and featuring stitchery and applique and using the Tilda range of fabrics (which we know many of you love).  Kits are available for $289.50 which includes fabrics for the quilt top and binding.  Or you can choose to pay a deposit of $49.50, followed by $80.00 for each the following 3 months. Either way you will receive all of your fabrics when full payment has been made, meaning you only get charged one lot of postage! The first section of the pattern is in this month’s “Homespun” magazine.  This BOM will run for 10 months with patterns in each issue of “Homespun” from February to November, inclusive.  Don’t miss out on your copy – you can order one through us to ensure you get each instalment!

“Paradise in Blooms”

Use Foundation Paper Piecing techniques to make this stunning Quiltworx design.  There are kits in two colour ways; cool blues with a hint of pink, or a more Mexican theme of yellow/orange/purple.  We have samples in both colour ways in store for you to see.  Alternately, we can help you choose your own colour version.

We’re running this particularly one like a BOM, with payments specific to your version – pricing will depend on the fabrics chosen and the size quilt you wish to make (either double or queen size). Please contact us for a pricing schedule.

For further information on any of the above BOM’s please see the website or contact the shop to put your name down, or as an expression on interest.

“Little Quilt-aholics Club”

This Club is for those who love making little quilts.  Join in the fun to make 8 quilts in total spread over 12 months.  Pattern number 4 has just been released.  However, it's not too late to join - there are just a few spots remaining. Again, for more information contact the shop or go to our website.

$49.50 per month x 8 months (includes patterns and kits)
