Fabrics

:: “Storybook Sleepytime” by Whistler Studios. Nod off to dreamland with these 1930’s inspired prints. Sweet kittens, darling puppy dogs, and a peppy jack in the box round out this childhood adventure through dreamland. Be sure to count your sheep while dreaming of this collection! Full range available.

:: “Guess How Much I Love You” by Sam McBratney & Anita Jeram.   Anita Jeram grew up in Portsmouth, England, where she recalls being a shy child who felt at ease with animals and simply could not stop drawing on any scrap of paper available. Soon after she completed art school, she began a relationship with Walker Press/Candlewick resulting in a number of books and series. She is best known for the children’s book Guess How Much I Love You. With her humorous and touching depiction of Sam McBratney’s Big and Little Nut Brown Hare, the book has become a childhood classic. And now there is a fabric range of her delightful creatures printed in flannel for extra snuggle. Full range available.

:: “New Hope” by Jo Morton. A beautiful selection of more colours to add to your fabric collection of 19th Century prints. We’ve chose a selection of reds and creams. 7 bolts available.

:: “Lilac Ridge” by Jan Patek Quilts. Lilacs in bloom are a sure sign that Spring has truly arrived. While Lilac Ridge can’t capture the heavy fragrance of lilacs, these prints showcase the shades of lilac and lavender, enriched by the lush greens, earth browns and soft creams of the new season.

:: “Chalk and Timber” by Timeworn Toolbox Designs.   Known for her gorgeous muted palettes, Dolores Smith explains, "The classic colour combo of pink and brown has always appealed to me. Chalk & Timber gives quilters lots of shirting options and a range of values. Whether recreating a classic 1800s quilt or interpreting an antique project in a modern style, they'll find that these prints will fit today's homes. The name of the line is in reference with the name of my design entity, Timeworn Toolbox Designs. I like to name my fabric lines with reference to construction and building materials."  Full range available.

:: “Essex Yarn Dyed Linen - Pickle” These stunning linens from Robert Karufman are a 55%/45% linen/cotton mix and this colour, Pickle, is fabulous!

Full-size templates are included in the book as well as Edyta s raw edge appliqué and binding techniques. Full colour throughout, step-by-step technique photographs.

:: “Sew a Little Fabric” by Paula Storm. It's not often that you find a book that caters to everyone from the absolute beginner to the advanced sewer. Sew a Little Fabric techniques and projects for modern quilters is one of those books. The absolute beginner will appreciate the step by step photos, while the more experienced quilter will find quicker and easier ways of achieving those tedious tasks. You'll learn tips and techniques to improve your patchwork and quilting along with basics like how to put a zipper in a cushion, or how to bind a quilt, the almost maths freeway. You'll even learn how to baste a large quilt on a small table. Of course then there's the projects! There's an assortment of projects from the incredibly popular 'Summer Rain' quilt to the Modernised Morning Star quilt. There's a baby quilt, table runner and placemats and half a dozen different cushion techniques... so much to learn. This book is all about helping you become the best quilter you can be, while still really enjoying the process.

:: “Old Quilts New Life” by Sarah Fielke.  Old Quilts, New Life features 18 stunning quilts designed by passionate quilter, author, and designer, Sarah Fielke. Sarah has selected 9 beautiful quilts from The American Folk Art Museum in New York and created two designs inspired by each quilt—the first, a sympathetic interpretation of the original piece and the second, a more contemporary creation. Old Quilts, New Life showcases these stunning quilts—each one accompanied by step-by-step instructions so you can create them at home. The book takes you through the history of the quilting tradition and explores the techniques and styles employed by quilters over the centuries. From the beautiful simplicity of an Amish quilt to a pretty pinwheel design, there is a quilt here to suit all skill levels and styles.
